Greycroft Irish Wolfhounds

About Us

Where's our breakfast??

John first saw an Irish Wolfhound in the UK when he was only a boy and fell in love with the breed and always knew it was the breed for him.

When we moved to Australia it felt that the time was right to have a dog, but for John it was an Irish Wolfhound or nothing.  So we started our search and found Fianna Kennels who we learnt were just about to have their first litter.  So, after interviews, we were allowed to purchase our first Irish Wolfhound, Ch Fianna Angus, that was in 1975.  We have had at least 2 Irish Wolfhounds in our home ever since.  That was the start of a very long time of having the pleasure of living with this wonderful breed.

We soon learnt though that we needed to have some space for the hounds to have freedom for exercise and hence moved to our 12 acres of land, approximately 20 kms from Adelaide city centre.

Our Wolfhounds share our home and are very rarely kenneled as it is our belief that they need the company of their humans.

We enjoy showing and have had a lot of success with breed, group and in show awards.  We also have enjoyed obedience, lure coursing and occassionally breeding.

Our recent import from Canada Can and Aust Champion Starkeeper Glenamadda Veronica has had one best in show all breeds and one runner-up best in show all breeds at only 2 yrs old. We look forward to her future.  Recently, we have also welcomed to our home our lovely Gruagach Jungle Guardian from Sweden.

We have made many wonderful friends around the world through the dogs and John's judging appointments

John is an  ANKC Licenced All Breeds Conformation Judge.
